One Walled Lake Central, two Walled Lake Northern and three Walled Lake Western student-athletes are headed to the Indoor Track and Field National Championships this weekend in Boston, Massachusetts and New York City.

Knights’ middle distance runner, Finn Gammerath, is shipping off to Boston to compete in the 800 meter dash at the New Balance Indoor National Championships. The senior was a member of the 2024 All-State 4x800 meter relay time, which also currently owns the school record in the event. Gammerath will run against Walled Lake Western senior, Said Baca Mora, who also qualified in the 800 meter dash.

Fresh off winning the 400 meter state indoor track title early this month, Walled Lake Western’s Rodney Endsley will look to repeat at the historic Armory in New York City at the Nike Indoor track and Field National Championships. The Warriors’ 400 meter dash record holder will compete in the 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 4x400 meter relay at nationals. Fellow Walled Lake Western sprinter Kira Havard will join Endsley in the Big Apple to compete in both the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash.

Walled Lake Central sophomore Ciana Carson and Walled Lake Northern senior Anna Weinberger will also head to New York. Weinberger is the Knights’ current school Pole Vault record holder, which she set last April clearing 11’0”. Walled Lake Central's Ciana Carson will compete in both the 400 meter dash and 1600 meter relay.
